Broaden your summer wardrobe with this fun strapless sundress, featuring a sweet and flirty ruffle at the hem. An ideal first garment project for beginning seamsters. You will learn skills in pattern reading, creating casings and inserting elastic, gathering and basting while you make your dress. Please bring 2 1/4 yards of 45" wide light or medium weight cotton or linen fabric and a copy of Chic & Simple Sewing (which contains the dress pattern). You may purchase the book (and fabric) at Home Ec. with a 15% student discount. Students must either have previously taken Sewing 101/Intro to Sewing or have basic knowledge of machine sewing, ironing, and construction. Your instructor is local designer Christine Haynes, author of Chic & Simple Sewing. Class happens on two consecutive Tuesdays, April 6 + 13 from 7-10pm.
